Produced by Brooklyn-based powerhouse SunDub, Brooklyn Riddim (Batch 1) is a vibrant celebration of the "riddim album" tradition, reimagined through the lens of NYC's thriving reggae scene. Released in June 2025, this compilation features a single, masterful instrumental foundation that serves as the canvas for a diverse array of vocalists to showcase their unique lyrical styles. For the label, this project is a quintessential "Brooklyn link-up," highlighting the collaborative energy and world-class musicianship that defines the Easy Star community in our own backyard.
The guest list for Batch 1 reads like a masterclass in roster synergy, featuring long-time brothers Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad alongside the deep roots of The Meditations and the soul-stirring vocals of Cas Haley. Standing tall alongside SunDub's previous masterpiece, “Spirits Eat Music”, and their experimental sessions with Scientist, this release reinforces the band's position as a premier production house within the label.
