I Grade Dub
I Grade Dub is the incredibly profound, live dub mixing project of Laurent "Tippy I" Alfred, the acclaimed producer and founder of the St. Croix-based I Grade Records. Since the early 2000s, Tippy I has been a central architectural force behind the incredibly rich Virgin Islands roots reggae movement, producing seminal acts like Midnite and Akae Beka.
The I Grade Dub experience involves Tippy I live-mixing and completely deconstructing these monumental studio recordings in a live setting, utilizing incredibly intricate analog gear. Operating heavily in the tradition of legendary dub masters, I Grade Dub provides a deeply meditative, heavy, and spiritually immersive sound system experience.
