Eek-A-Mouse

Eek-A-Mouse (Ripton Joseph Hylton) is one of Jamaican music's most eccentric and iconic figures, famous for creating the "singjay" styleβ€”a completely unique hybrid of singing, DJ toasting, and completely original phonetic scatting (such as "biddy biddy beng"). Standing physically towering at over 6 feet 5 inches, his stage presence is as unmistakable as his sound.

With massive international hits like "Wa-Do-Dem" and "Ganja Smuggling" produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes, Eek-A-Mouse became a massive star globally during the 1980s. He remains one of roots reggae and dancehall's most beloved, enduring, and utterly unique legends.
