Eek-A-Mouse

Eek-A-Mouse (Ripton Joseph Hylton) is one of Jamaican music's most eccentric and iconic figures, famous for creating the "singjay" style—a completely unique hybrid of singing, DJ toasting, and completely original phonetic scatting (such as "biddy biddy beng"). Standing physically towering at over 6 feet 5 inches, his stage presence is as unmistakable as his sound.

With massive international hits like "Wa-Do-Dem" and "Ganja Smuggling" produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes, Eek-A-Mouse became a massive star globally during the 1980s. He remains one of roots reggae and dancehall's most beloved, enduring, and utterly unique legends.
