Bunny Rugs

Bunny Rugs (1948–2014) was the legendary lead singer of the iconic reggae band Third World. Born William Clarke in Jamaica, his rich, incredibly powerful baritone voice became the defining sound of the group, helping them achieve massive international crossover success throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

With timeless hits like "96 Degrees in the Shade" and the worldwide smash "Now That We Found Love," Rugs was instrumental in popularizing a sophisticated blend of reggae, soul, and funk. Widely regarded as one of reggae's greatest vocalists, his distinct soulfulness and commanding stage presence left an indelible mark on the genre's history.
