GDC DROPS NEW SINGLE “USE ME”
Gentleman’s Dub Club return with a new music video and release of “Use Me,” a funky reggae- infused cover of the classic Bill Withers hit. The song features vocals from UK-reggae star Kiko Bun (who has worked with Loyle Carner, Shy Fx, Chase And Status, and Ticklah, among many others). The video premiering via Clash Music is a pitch-perfect take on Withers’ well-known live performance on the Old Grey Whistle Test from 1972. Fyah Roiall (pronounced “royal”) is one of Jamaica’s most exciting rappers at the forefront of the emerging “grimehall” sound (also sometimes referred to as “traphall”), a new forward-facing subgenre of Jamaican music that combines American trap, UK grime, and dancehall. The music video for "Nobody" was filmed at Kingston dispensary Itopia Life and directed by 300K (whose past credits include work with Popcaan, Koffee and Afro B). REBELUTION ANNOUNCES NEW DUB ALBUM
Grammy–nominated reggae/rock band Rebelution will release Dub Collection on July 17, and today they have launched the first single “Attention Span Dub.” The original version appeared on the band’s debut album Courage To Grow. The dub album, a joint venture between the band’s 87 Music and Easy Star Records, features 15 dub versions of fan favorites and five songs will be released on consecutive Fridays through June 26 with each track representing a different album from throughout their effervescent career. VICTOR RICE – DRINK – NEW ALBUM OUT NOW
In 2017, Latin GRAMMY award-winning producer, engineer, and musician Victor Rice released Smoke, his first solo album in over 15 years. The album was released on tastemaker indie label Easy Star Records and garnered critical praise and a cult-like following.
