African Brothers

The African Brothers were a foundational roots reggae vocal trio formed in Jamaica in the late 1960s, consisting of Sugar Minott, Tony Tuff, and Derrick "Congo" Howard. Emerging from the vibrant musical community of Kingston, the group was instrumental in developing the harmonious, socially conscious sound that defined the early days of roots reggae.

Although their time together as a trio was relatively brief, the African Brothers recorded several classic tracks that championed Rastafarian ideology and African heritage. After the group disbanded in the 1970s, all three members went on to have highly successful and influential solo careers in the reggae and dancehall industries.
