Kings and Queens John Brown's Body

Released: April 16, 2013 Album
Kings and Queens

KINGS AND QUEENS was the full-length follow-up to 2008's AMPLIFY, and it came after a pretty long break in releasing music for the band. As usual, there had been plenty of personnel changes, but founding members Elliot Martin, drummer Tommy Benedetti, guitarist Mike Keenan, along with bassist Nate Edgar, and a stellar new horn section came correct after the layoff with a record many consider to be their finest. Filled with deep grooves, thought provoking lyrics, and progressive arrangements, the record further cemented JBB's status as one of the most visionary American reggae bands. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard reggae chart.

"John Brown's Body Puts Out Their Best Studio Album." - New York Music Daily

"With KINGS AND QUEENS, John Brown's Body delivered once again, demonstrating the diversity that is "American Reggae" and pushing musical boundaries in ways very few bands are capable. The progressive and refreshing mix of sounds has KINGS AND QUEENS poised to top the reggae charts, making the album one of reggae's best in 2013." - The Pier

"KINGS AND QUEENS picked up right where AMPLIFY left off, and thats leaving a legacy that has inspired and carved a path for the now thriving contemporary American reggae scene… JBB is the King!" - Rudeboy Reggae
