Released in the fall of 2016 via Easy Star Records, INTO THE LIGHT marks a focused, vibrant return for Backbeat Soundsystem. Following their 2014 full-length debut, TOGETHER NOT APART⁠, the collective opted for a concise, self-produced five-track EP. This tighter format allows the band to completely distill their signature sound into a highly potent 25-minute package, capturing the raw, infectious energy of their live performances while showcasing their meticulous, independent studio craftsmanship.

Sonically, the EP delivers a masterclass in smooth, fully funkified reggae.
