Echo Minott

Echo Minott (Noel Phillips) is a highly influential Jamaican reggae and dancehall vocalist whose career took off during the pivotal shift from live bands to early digital reggae in the 1980s. With his incredibly unique, vibrato-heavy vocal style, he became a massive star for producers like King Jammy and Harry J.

He is perhaps best known for his 1985 massive international smash hit "Lazy Body," an anthem that helped define the early "sleng teng" digital dancehall era. Minott's ability to seamlessly bridge classic singing with raw dancehall energy made him a seminal figure in the genre's history.
