Passafire

Since forming in 2003 as students at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Passafire has steadily carved out a distinct lane in the U.S. reggae scene. Founded by guitarist/vocalist Ted Bowne and drummer Nick Kubley, the lineup eventually solidified into a powerhouse quartet with the addition of Nick's brother, Will Kubley, on bass and vocals, alongside Mike DeGuzman on keyboards and guitar. While many groups in the genre lean entirely into laid-back, permanent-vacation vibes, Passafire has always dared to push boundaries by injecting roots reggae with the punchy, kinetic energy of progressive rock, funk, and hip-hop.

Passafire built their formidable reputation the old-fashioned way: relentless touring and an unwavering DIY work ethic. Playing hundreds of shows a year, the road warriors have shared stages with heavyweights like 311, Pepper, Rebelution, Matisyahu, SOJA, and The Wailers. Passafire joined the Easy Star Records roster in 2013 and the band delivered Billboard Reggae Chart-topping albums like VINES (2013) and LONGSHOT (2017).
