HUSTLING CULTURE BY THE EXPANDERS
While Hustling Culture was The Expanders’ third official album (and first with Easy Star), it felt like a first for the band as a cohesive unit. Drummer John Asher explains, “Our first album was a collection of music from good friends making a record together. Our second album was a great covers album, but Hustling Culture is the band coming into its own with our songwriting and musicianship.” The record debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Reggae Chart.

âThe city of Los Angeles is linked to progression and style, even in the instance of placing a modern twist on vintage culture. With this in mind, it is no wonder that The Expanders, an LA-based roots reggae band, has made such an impact reviving and expanding on the classic sounds of 1970’s and 80’s reggae.â — Top Shelf Reggae
âYou’d have to set the bar very high to determine which is the finest reggae band to come from Los Angeles, let alone California or the whole of the United States. But make no mistake- the Expanders are contenders on all three countsâ — Nice Up
