Ever since the foundational US reggae band John Brown’s Body reunited after a 6-year break in 2024, fans have been wondering if the return to live shows might lead to new music – and it has! “Hard Fight” is the first new single since 2016’s celebrated FIREFLIES album. JBB helped build the current US scene, being one of the first reggae acts to tour nationwide, which turned a generation of kids on to the genre, many of whom went on to form their own bands, including Rebelution, Slightly Stoopid, Stick Figure, The Movement, Passafire, and others.
“Hopefully a shaft of light shines through a dark assessment of the state of the world in these times. ‘Hard Fight’ sends a message that life is a gift, and while we’re here, we must do the hard work in the face of adversity.” – vocalist/guitarist Kevin Kinsella
