Gary "Nesta" Pine

Beginning in 1989, Gary "Nesta" Pine was the lead singer for City Heat, one of Jamaica's (and New York's) most popular backing bands. With City Heat, he toured all over the world and performed beside the royalty of reggae music. Since leaving City Heat, he has performed solo and also spent years channeling his idol, Bob Marley, in the Wailers. His song "Fighting For The Right Thing," from Easy Star Volume One, is a strong political rocker that follows in the path of classic work by Dennis Brown, Mykal Rose and the Honorable Robert Nesta Marley. Gary then made a huge splash as the featured vocalist (along with Dollarman) on "Money" from Dub Side of the Moon.
