KINGS & QUEENS BY JOHN BROWN’S BODY
Kings And Queens was the full-length follow-up to 2008’s Amplify, and it came after a pretty long break in releasing music for the band. As usual, there had been plenty of personnel changes, but founding members Elliot Martin, drummer Tommy Benedetti, guitarist Mike Keenan, along with bassist Nate Edgar, and a stellar new horn section came correct after the layoff with a record many consider to be their finest. Filled with deep grooves, thought provoking lyrics, and progressive arrangements, the record further cemented JBB’s status as one of the most visionary American reggae bands. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard reggae chart.
